New British accessories brand Otway & Orford has just introduced its launch collection of dramatically different silk pocket squares, selling internationally on The business was inspired by the founder’s grandfather, a Merchant Navy captain during the 1920s and 1930s, who always wore a pocket square whether at sea or on land. The brand is named after two of the glamorous liners that he served on.

Otway & Orford aim to create a new tradition in silk pocket squares. The large size pocket squares are created in Macclesfield, the home of English silk printing, and are finished the traditional way by hand-rolling and hand-sewing the hems of the silk twill squares.

The ‘new’ in the Otway & Orford tradition comes from taking a dramatically different approach to the printed designs. They have collaborated with some of the finest artists of dynamic and colourful aviation, automotive and sporting art to produce vibrant silk pocket squares that never fail to stir the emotions as they feature artworks inspired by some of men’s favourite subjects. These include sporting action from the worlds of football, rugby and horse racing as well as subjects including the iconic Spitfire, aerobatic display team The Red Arrows, classic motor racing at Le Mans and the Italian Job Minis.

The pocket squares are unique and are perfect for today’s more relaxed formal as well as smart casual styles for men. The evocative and timeless artworks mean men can keep something close to their chest that is not only visually appealing but that also carries more personal meaning for the wearer. Not only selling directly to men, the silk pocket squares also make perfect gifts for any occasion thanks to their quality, highly collectable and meaningful designs as well as their complimentary Otway & Orford gift box. Each silk pocket square measures 42 x 42cm and is priced at £70.
