After the success at Cannes, Fandango brings another extraordinary sports story to the big screen: NASTY.

A documentary by Tudor Giurgiu, Cristian Pascariu, Tudor D Popescu which reconstructs the unforgettable human and sporting parable of Ilie Năstase, told by the protagonist and absolute idols such as Ion Țiriac, Jimmy Connors, Stan Smith, Björn Borg, John McEnroe, Billie Jean King, Rafael Nadal, Boris Becker, Yannick Noah.

The film is distributed by Fandango, written by Cristian Pascariu and Tudor Giurgiu and produced by Cosmin Hodor and Tudor Giurgiu.

Ilie Năstase wins his first US Open, reaches the Wimbledon and Davis Cup finals and enters tennis history. NASTY traces his ups and downs, the controversies that accompanied the world number one player in 1973 and the indelible mark he left on the world of tennis.

Charming, friendly and generous, but also irascible, arrogant and unscrupulous, Năstase overturned the classic etiquette of this sport, putting on a show on the court and becoming tennis’s first rebellious rock star.

“THE BAD BOY OF TENNIS” “EXTRAORDINARY” “ANGRY” “ARROGANT” are just some of the words used by the international press over the years to describe Romanian tennis player Ilie Năstase.

The first number 1 in the history of the ATP rankings, Năstase was at the top of the rankings from 1973 to 1974. One of the 10 players in history who won more than 100 ATP titles, including Davis Cup, Wimbledon and Roland Garros, Năstase was the first professional sportsman to sign a sponsorship contract with Nike.
