Levi’s® and New Balance® are two brands with a rich history and heritage. They’re also two brands that are always looking into the future. Last season, Levi’s® and New Balance® teamed up to celebrate their beginnings. And now, for Fall/Winter 2020, they’ve again come together, this time to celebrate the icons of the next generation.
For this new collection, Levi’s® and New Balance® take that famous iconography and blend it up into something both classic and contemporary. First, with a retro-meets-modern New Balance® 327. And then, with three reversible padded versions—two for men, one for women—of the classic Levi’s® Trucker Jacket. There’s also a stylish co-branded graphic tee thrown into the mix.
For the Levi’s® x New Balance® 327—a reinterpretation of the 320, the original New Balance® running shoe—it’s a mix of retro 1970s styling and modern asymmetrical design. Available in a navy, indigo and white or navy, white, and grey colorway for men, and a grey, sky blue, and white colorway for women, the 327 features a ‘70s style waffle sole with a contemporary oversized New Balance® “N” on the side. Also included is the traditional New Balance® tongue tag with classic “NB” logo in blue and white, only with a Levi’s® red tab stitched onto the side.
Each of the reversible padded Trucker Jackets in the collection features a classic denim “Levi’s®” side, and then a re-imagined quilted “New Balance®” side. For the Levi’s® side, it’s a patchwork of denim in either three shades of indigo or three shades of grey for the men, and sky blue, grey, and white for the women. On the New Balance® side, it’s a quilted white with navy collar and cuffs or a quilted grey with white sleeves for the men, and a quilted white with grey sleeves and sky blue collar and cuffs for the women. All three Trucker Jackets also include a giant tonal grey New Balance® logo on the back of the quilted side, sewn with 3M reflective stitching as a nod to the reflective elements of the New Balance® running sneaker. Shot by photographer, stylist and creative director Cam Hicks, the campaign was inspired by the concepts of duality and the yin-yang, bringing to life the reversible construction and paneling of the footwear and apparel.
And finally, the collection also includes a special edition Levi’s® x New Balance® grey graphic tee, featuring a collaged graphic of both classic Levi’s® and the original New Balance® 320 running shoe advertising. It’s a celebration of two iconic brands that, while proud of their history and heritage, never stop looking forward.
