    Pineider Great Gatsby

I was invited to a special evening last week by Pineider, which organized an event to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Great Gatsby at its flagship store in Milan, with the participation and collaboration of other companies in the world of luxury and quality.

Caviale Giaveri, Museo Nicolis ,Electa, Amedei, Castello della Sala, Club Amici del sigaro, and Encry Champagne.

The mix of sponsors was balanced, and the quality of the attendees was equally high.

Pineider is an Italian luxury brand of high-quality leather goods, pens, and stationery, founded in 1774 in Florence. After being acquired by the Rovagnati family, the company became a lifestyle brand focused on handmade products.

Founded in 1774 in Florence, initially as a printing company, Pineider has evolved over time. Acquisition: It was acquired by the Rovagnati family, who transformed it into a luxury brand. Products: Offers a wide range of luxury items, including high-quality leather goods, pens, and stationery, often handmade. Current focus: The brand focuses on a luxury lifestyle and high-end artisanal products.

The required dress code was black tie with a touch of the 20’s.

Rolls Royce in the adjacent courtyard of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, champagne served in classic coupes, cigars, and caviar, and a convivial and festive atmosphere all reflected the evening’s theme: a commemoration of the myth of the Great Gatsby, still alive in its essence and perceived as a happy historical period that is difficult to replicate today except on occasions of this kind.

To the tune of “Young and Beautiful” and the soundtrack from both versions of the film, the book copy of The Great Gatsby, and the Charleston attire of some guests, the evening flew by with conversation, a few cigars smoked in the courtyard, and the ever-present presence of author Francis Scotti Fitzgerald as if he were still among us.

A Gatsby night to be repeated next year. We hope

Francis Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby at the age of 28, and the book was first published in New York in 1925.

“He smiled understandingly-much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced–or seemed to face–the whole eternal world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey.”

“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”

    F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
