EBERHARD & CO. OFFICIAL TIMEKEEPER OF THE VERNASCA SILVER FLAG 2025 13-15 June

Eberhard & Co. has reconfirmed its participation as Main Sponsor and Official Timekeeper of the Vernasca Silver Flag, a dynamic restoration and conservation competition for historic racing cars organized by the Piacenza Automotoveicoli d’Epoca Club (CPAE), now in its 29th edition.

The event took place from 13 to 15 June 2025 along the picturesque route that leads from Castell’Arquato to Vernasca, in the heart of the Val d’Arda, and was met with great public success. This edition celebrated 50 years of a legendary season of Italian motorsport: 1975, the year in which Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Fiat won, each in their own category, the main world and European titles.

Eberhard & Co. awarded its prestigious timepieces to the winners of the two main categories of the competition: “Best of Show pre-war cars” and “Best of Show post-war cars”. For the pre-war cars, the award went to the 1907 FIAT 130HP, from the Mauto – National Automobile Museum and driven by Davide Lorenzone: an icon of the origins of motoring, with its 16,000 cc engine capable of over 160 km/h.

In the post-war category, the 1975 Lancia Stratos Group 4 triumphed, driven by Alessandro Carrara. A true rally legend, also made famous by the victories of Adartico Vudafieri, who in 1978 won the Italian Rally Championship with this model.

Fifty years after its birth, the Stratos continues to embody the spirit of road racing. Among the enthusiasts competing was also the collector Corrado Lopresto, Brand Ambassador of Eberhard & Co., who took part in the event at the wheel of an exceptional car linked to a legendary figure of motorsport to whom one of the Maison’s most distinctive collections is dedicated: Tazio Nuvolari. It is the Cisitalia D48, a unique piece built in 1948 as an evolution of the D46. Equipped with a 1200 cc engine and a particularly aerodynamic body, this single-seater was entrusted to Tazio Nuvolari, who drove it at the 1948 Monaco Grand Prix, and then to Piero Taruffi, who took it to the track in the same year at the Bari GP.
