    Creation is an eternal journey

Dom Pérignon unveils “Creation is an eternal journey,” a new creative chapter deeply rooted in the Maison’s unwavering commitment to creation and its ongoing dialogue with iconic creators.

In 1668, the Benedictine monk Dom Pierre Pérignon declared his desire to create “the best wine in the world.” Inspired by the vision and values of this founding myth, the Maison has perpetuated this creative ambition in each of its Vintages, seeking harmony as a source of emotion.

For Dom Pérignon, Creation is an eternal journey: creation is a journey that transcends time and space, creating resonances between the past, present and future.

Over the years, a constellation of cultural icons have become part of this journey—some inspired by Dom Pérignon, others inspired it. In the early 1960s, as he prepared to shoot what would become his legendary photo shoot with Marilyn Monroe, photographer Bert Stern

said: “I looked around my studio with satisfaction. Lights, music, veils… what was missing? The phone rang. It was Pat Newcomb, Marilyn’s PR. ‘Hello, Bert. Could you order three bottles of Dom Pérignon 1953 for Marilyn tomorrow?’ I went to a store in Santa Monica and asked if they had any Dom Pérignon ’53. ‘How many bottles would you like, sir?’ ‘I’ll take a case.'” 1.

In 1974, photographer Robert Mapplethorpe immortalized Dom Pérignon Vintage 1968 in a Polaroid, transforming it into a New Year’s greeting card. The bottle also appears in his triptych Champagne (1975), thus elevated to an object (and subject) of art. And it is now known that Andy Warhol bought 2,000 bottles of the Maison together with a group of friends, with the intention of opening them together at the beginning of the millennium.

Since 2005, Dom Pérignon has continued to foster this creative dialogue, through tributes and collaborations with some of the most visionary artists of our time – from Andy Warhol to Jean-Michel Basquiat, from Karl Lagerfeld to Jeff Koons, from David Lynch to Lenny Kravitz, among others – each of whom has left their mark on the imagination and vision of the House.

More than just a Champagne, Dom Pérignon is a source of continuous inspiration for artists and visionaries, captivating with its unique philosophy and magnetic aura. Building on its historical legacy, Dom Pérignon today opens a new creative chapter, expanding its constellation of cultural icons.

The program: a journey through art, design and performance, unfolding over time

A series of photographs and films that capture the creation

“It’s not about the photography, it’s about the conversation.” Collier Schorr

Acclaimed photographer Collier Schorr, known for her introspective approach, engaged deeply with each of the seven creators and Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon, leaving them free to express their visions. At the heart of the photographs and videos are the conversations that bring the creation to life. The end result is an intimate portrait of the process itself, a space where thought, inspiration and reflection converge.

Schorr’s portraits document the stages of creation in their rawest and most primal form. The black-and-white photographs capture the creators lost in their thoughts, caught in motion, or completely immersed in their instincts. In contrast, the vibrant color shots capture a particular moment of interaction with the Dom Pérignon bottle, seamlessly intertwining it with their artistic world.

Directed by writer and filmmaker Camille Summers-Valli, the videos delve into the personal journey of each of the creators.

    “Creation can change history”

    Takashi Murakami

The films open with a question about the essence of creation and develop through the reflections sparked by conversations between the creators and digital editor Jefferson Hack – here in the role of interviewer – about their craft, the invisible forces that guide them, and the profound connections between their art and the eternal journey of creation.

Together, these portraits and films capture moments of deep intimacy, revealing how each figure, in their own way, becomes part of the never-ending journey that shapes the legacy of Dom Pérignon.

An art exhibition curated by Dom Pérignon – London, May 2025

The exhibition will follow a spiral-shaped path, symbolizing this journey.

The “past” will highlight the long-standing links between Dom Pérignon and major cultural icons of all time, from tributes to legendary figures to artistic collaborations initiated by the House.

The “present” will immerse visitors in the creative worlds of the seven protagonist creators, revealing photographic portraits and campaign videos that capture the intimate dialogue with Dom Pérignon.

The “future” will reveal a series of drawings, photographs and texts that tell the story of the Pré-Assemblages 2024 – the name given to the creative journey of Dom Pérignon and its encounter with the singular character of the vintage, in the personal interpretation of Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon.

    Design Works – October 2025

During this new chapter, Dom Pérignon will unveil limited-edition design works, the result of a collaboration with one of the seven creators participating in the eternal journey of creation. These design objects continue the creative dialogue that the Maison has had with visionary artists since 2005 and reflect Dom Pérignon’s ongoing commitment to artistic exploration and innovation.

    Coming soon

In 2026, Dom Pérignon’s journey will enter a new dimension with a performance by one of the creators featured in the campaign. This immersive experience will deepen Dom Pérignon’s connection with the world of art and culture, continuing the Maison’s tradition of inspiring creative expression in its various forms.

With its new creative chapter, Dom Pérignon reaffirms its vision of creation as an eternal journey, seamlessly connecting past, present and future to inspire the world towards elevation.

As part of this creative process, Dom Pérignon will soon be launching four new Vintages – an unprecedented milestone in the history of the House.

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2008 – Plénitude 2: The 2008 Vintage is elevated to a new peak of expression, a new fullness, in its second Plénitude. A reimagining of a classic Champagne that propels Dom Pérignon into its modern era.

    “Creation is like a spiral”

    Vincent Chaperon

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2017: Former Cave Master Richard Geoffroy’s final year at the House, marking the end of an era.

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018: the beginning of a new era, marked by a transition in leadership and a change in the winemaking process.

Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010: the culmination of a decade-long exploration of red Pinot Noir, which has expanded the expressive territory of Dom Pérignon while maintaining its harmonious balance.

Dom Pérignon has a creative ambition: the relentless search for harmony as a source of emotion. The House pursues this quest through aesthetic and sensorial values: precision, intensity, tactile sensation, minerality, complexity, completeness and a distinctive way of sustaining the note. Every creative process has its constraints, and for Dom Pérignon, the constraint is the vintage: an absolute commitment to bear witness to the harvest of one and only one year, whatever the challenge, going so far as not to declare the Vintage if necessary.

Dom Pérignon is always the fruit of a blend, the foundation of the House’s style. It is guided by timeless principles that have always taken precedence over winemaking techniques and their evolution. Time is fundamental in the Dom Pérignon equation. The time required for active maturation on the lees in the darkness of the cellars, which allows each Vintage to reveal itself
