CHIC NONNA OF FLORENCE IS CHANGING ITS NAME
This is the new name of the restaurant run by star Chef Vito Mollica, who as of today becomes the owner of Mine Lifestyle Firenze Srl, the company in charge of the food services at Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence.
Chef Vito Mollica continues his journey in culinary excellence by choosing a name that reflects his growth and continued commitment to offering his customers authentic flavours and impeccable hospitality.
The name ATTO DI VITO MOLLICA is rich in meaning. For Chef Mollica, each dish is an ATTO d’amore – an ACT of love, a gesture that expresses passion, dedication and creativity. Each guest’s experience is conceived of as a theatrical ACT from beginning to end. The culinary performance slowly unfolds before the eyes of the diners. Like every art-form, Vito Mollica’s cuisine is designed to convey and stimulate sensations and feelings. ATTO also represents an ACT of responsibility towards the land and the primary ingredients used in the dishes. It favours and protects local suppliers, thereby sustaining the surrounding countryside. It is an ACT of respect towards tradition itself, forever a fundamental element in the Chef’s ongoing quest. Within the lovely setting of the restaurant, diners discover little by little an intriguing storyline of tastes and emotions.
Palazzo Portinari Salviati remains the prestigious “stage” where every detail is meticulously orchestrated so as to enchant. The food and wine, too, have not changed, ever faithful to seasonal menus based on tradition yet with an international flavour, always and exclusively prepared with ingredients of the highest quality. In addition to the fine dining proposal, the offerings of the Salotto Portinari Bistrot and the Eye Cocktail Bar are unaltered. They are three distinct venues within a multi-sensory itinerary, open from morning until late at night, characterised by a constant dialogue between the past and the present. It is here that valuable works of art from Renaissance Florence coexist with innovative design, and here that gastronomic delights adapt to the various needs of native Florentines and international visitors alike.
Alongside Vito Mollica in this project, there are still the same brigade and dining staff, featuring food & beverage manager David Bonissone and the two restaurant Chefs, Rosario Bernardo and Paolo Acunto. Other members of the team are Elena Visconti as event manager, Denis Giuliani and Lorenzo Baroni as Salotto Portinari Bar & Bistrot managers, Mark Ignatov and Davide Altobelli as ATTO managers, and Clizia Zuin as sommelier.
“I am happy and excited to embark on this new path,” says Chef Vito Mollica. “For me, it is a dream come true, a dream that would not have been possible without the invaluable constant commitment of my entire team. They have believed in this ambitious project from Day One. I wish the best of success for Chic Nonna and Mine & Yours, undertakings through which I have achieved important goals,” Vito Mollica concludes.
Chic Nonna will remain a brand owned by the Mine & Yours company, an Italian group active in the hospitality and catering field already present in Dubai, with openings planned for major international locations.
Mine & Yours Group is currently present in four countries: in Italy it manages a Members Club in Puglia and a Country Club in Porto Cervo while in the UK the company runs three luxury restaurants in some of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods: Osteria Romana (Knightsbridge), Osteria Napoletana (Notting Hill) and Santo Mare (Marylebone). It also has two concept eateries in the Arab Emirates, Chic Nonna Dubai and L’Amo Bistrot del Mare, a Gourmet Café, Delizie, and a wellness centre, Mine – Exclusive Wellness & Lifestyle.
